About Us
Watson and Jenkins Opticians was established in 2003 by optometrist Stephen Jenkins and dispensing optician Stewart Watson, who has now retired, leaving Stephen Jenkins to run the business.
Mr Jenkins has been an optician in Chesterfield since 1989 and has built up a reputation for thorough, comprehensive eye examinations taking plenty of time with each patient in order to help them get the best possible vision and most suitable pair of spectacles for their needs, without any high pressure selling.

We have moved in June 2018 to new larger premises at 86 Saltergate, near the back of the Town Hall just opposite Avenue House Doctors Surgery. A beautiful large Victorian building with free parking for three cars at the back, with access down the side of the property. We have full disabled access with a ramp at the front door and no steps to negotiate with everything on ground floor level. Many of the original Victorian features have been retained, blending into the modern practice fittings and equipment making for a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.
You are very welcome to call in and browse with a large range of spectacle frames from many quality free styles through to a great choice of designer frames at competitive prices.
If you pay privately for your eye test we charge just £25
You are entitled to a free NHS test if over 60, students or claiming benefits
